With just four days remaining, there is still much to look forward to, including a memorial tree planting, Grade 8 Graduation, visits to City Park and the splash pad, our PRIDE assembly, Bath Bash, and the distribution of report cards as we wrap up the school year.Thank you for your ongoing support in helping make these opportunities possible. These moments allow students to celebrate their growth, build connections, and create lasting memories.We would like to take a moment to express our sincere appreciation for our exceptional teaching staff. Their commitment, creativity, and genuine care have had a meaningful impact on our students. Each day, they go the extra mile to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where every child has the opportunity to succeed. Thank you to our teachers for all that you do.Memorial Tree PlantingAs the school year comes to an end, all students and staff will be invited to attend a brief memorial and tree planting at the front of the school to honour and remember Liam Gatto. The ceremony will take place on June 22 at 2:45 p.m.Each class will be invited to participate by pouring water at the base of the tree as a symbolic gesture to support its growth. If you feel this may not be appropriate for your child, please let their teacher know.Following the ceremony, students will have time to enjoy outdoor activities, such as chalk drawing and play, before dismissal.Frontenacs Scheduled Release VideoLast week the Frontenacs paid us a visit and spent some time in Ms. McGrath and Ms. Bauml's classes. However, two have been lent out that haven't come back. If you happen to have #26 or #32 at your house, please return them ASAP!2026/2027 School OrganizationAs we approach the end of the school year, we are finalizing staffing plans for the upcoming academic year. Next year Ms. Bauml will be moving closer to home at Trudell PS. We are thankful for all that she has done for our school and community since coming to Bath. The plan provides protection for dental damage due to accidents, fracture benefits and other important coverage, which are not covered under the Provincial Health Plan. Some parents may have dental plan coverage through their workplace but many of these plans are limited in one way or another, while this accident coverage is not. You should compare plans to make sure you have the coverage you need or desire.In making this plan available, the Board wishes to make its position clear in the matter of insurance. Under the Education Act, the Board is not permitted to provide insurance coverage for accidents to pupils, therefore, the Board recommends consideration of this plan to any parent who wishes to obtain this kind of insurance. Our athletes represented Bath with pride at the District Track and Field Meet, demonstrating strong effort, perseverance, and sportsmanship, including a number of students who participated in the All Abilities events. We also had a special visit from Barrack the Bear, the Kingston Frontenacs mascot, who spent time with Ms. McGrath and Ms. Bauml’s class, taking pictures and video that may be featured in a video to promote the Frontenacs season and the Bell Let’s Talk game—an event they hope to extend to our entire school community. This week, all classes participate in Brave program workshops, which focuses on building confidence, resilience, and positive relationships; we are very grateful to the Lion’s Club for generously supporting this opportunity for our students. On Thursday, two of our teams competed in the Ultimate Frisbee tournament, where both teams represented Bath extremely well, and our girls’ team finished the day undefeated. As we look ahead, the final two weeks of school will be jam-packed with activities, events, and celebrations as we wrap up our year together.Memorial Tree PlantingAs the school year comes to an end, all students and staff will be invited to attend a brief memorial and tree planting at the front of the school to honour and remember Liam Gatto. The ceremony will take place on June 22 at 2:45 p.m.Each class will be invited to participate by pouring water at the base of the tree as a symbolic gesture to support its growth. If you feel this may not be appropriate for your child, please let their teacher know.Following the ceremony, students will have time to enjoy outdoor activities, such as chalk drawing and play, before dismissal.Indigenous People's DayThis week we are pleased to welcome Knowledge Keeper Judy Montgomery to our school in recognition of Indigenous Peoples Day. Her visit provides an important opportunity for students to deepen their understanding and appreciation of Indigenous perspectives and teachings.Rainbow RunOur Kindergarten students have been enthusiastically preparing for their upcoming Rainbow Run, taking place on Tuesday. Families are invited to cheer them on from the Kindergarten yard as they complete their 1 km run. Following the run, students will celebrate with a hot dog barbecue alongside their Grade 8 buddies.Tour de FranceOn Wednesday, our French team is hosting a school-wide “Tour de France” experience. Students will work within their colour houses to rotate through a variety of engaging French-themed stations, including building an Eiffel Tower, creating art in the library, participating in a dance party in the gym, playing soccer, completing an obstacle course, and enjoying a French food tasting. The plan provides protection for dental damage due to accidents, fracture benefits and other important coverage, which are not covered under the Provincial Health Plan. Some parents may have dental plan coverage through their workplace but many of these plans are limited in one way or another, while this accident coverage is not. You should compare plans to make sure you have the coverage you need or desire.In making this plan available, the Board wishes to make its position clear in the matter of insurance. Under the Education Act, the Board is not permitted to provide insurance coverage for accidents to pupils, therefore, the Board recommends consideration of this plan to any parent who wishes to obtain this kind of insurance. Congratulations to everyone who worked hard and represented our school with pride and sportsmanship.SquishiesAlthough many kids love Squishies they have become an ongoing concern at school. They have led to disagreements over trading and missing items, and when they are damaged, they can create a mess in classrooms, on the yard, and on the bus. They are also becoming a distraction during learning time and are being used more as toys than as tools for focus.For these reasons, we are asking that squishies be kept at home.Kingston FrontenacsIn January,  the Kingston Frontenacs will host their annual Bell Let’s Talk Game and had the idea to bring all students and teachers from Bath to be part of this event to raise awareness and cheer on the Fronts!In preparation, they are working on a “Schedule Release Video” which will come out in a couple of weeks. The marketing team will be coming early next week to invite students from McGrath and Bauml's class, who would be willing, to draw OHL team logos and allow them to film their artwork and potentially some kids to be included in the video. BraveBrave Education will be returning from June 9–11 to deliver classroom-based workshops focused on conflict resolution and student well-being. Supporting positive mental health and relationships remains a key priority for our school. The plan provides protection for dental damage due to accidents, fracture benefits and other important coverage, which are not covered under the Provincial Health Plan. Some parents may have dental plan coverage through their workplace but many of these plans are limited in one way or another, while this accident coverage is not. You should compare plans to make sure you have the coverage you need or desire.In making this plan available, the Board wishes to make its position clear in the matter of insurance. Under the Education Act, the Board is not permitted to provide insurance coverage for accidents to pupils, therefore, the Board recommends consideration of this plan to any parent who wishes to obtain this kind of insurance. Although the policy has all the advantages of a group plan, it is essentially a direct contract between the parent and the insurance company.A family plan is also available for three or more students which permits the enrolment of students in the family who are attending schools outside the jurisdiction of this Board as long as at least one child in the family is attending a school within the Limestone District School Board.If you wish to subscribe to this insurance, you may do so by completing the form handed out to students the first week of school and mailing it directly to Reliable Life Insurance Company in the stamped envelope provided. Dear Families,As we move towards the last week of the 2025-2026 school year, I want to share a few important updates and reminders as we wrap up the year and begin looking ahead to September.2026-2027 School Year Budget At last night’s Regular Board Meeting, the Board of Trustees approved the Limestone District School Board’s 2026-2027 budget, prepared in accordance with Public Sector Accounting Board standards. Board of Trustees Approves 2026–2027 School Year Budget

At its regular meeting on June 17, 2026, the Limestone District School Board of Trustees approved a $340.5 million budget for the 2026–2027 school year. This is a deficit budget balanced through the use of reserve funds.The approved budget complies with Ministry of Education requirements and includes:<ul class="editor-list-ul"><li value="1" class="editor-listitem">Operating expenditures of $316.8 million, representing a $73,000 decrease compared to the previous year.</li><li value="2" class="editor-listitem">Capital expenditures of $23.7 million, allocated to school condition improvements and renewal projects.</li></ul>The vast majority of the operating budget is directed to student instruction and relates directly to classroom support. Year End Letter to Students and Parents

The Honourable Paul Calandra, Minister of Education has shared a letter for students, parents and families: Dear Students, Parents and Families,To our amazing students: well done on finishing another school year! This is a good time to celebrate everything you have accomplished over the past several months. You worked hard, took on challenges, learned new things and continued to grow. You should be proud of all you have achieved this year.As you begin your summer break, take time to rest, explore your interests, and enjoy time with family and friends. However you choose to spend your summer, I hope you make the most of the months ahead.To the graduating Class of 2026, congratulations on reaching this important milestone. Graduation marks the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. Whether your next step is college, university, an apprenticeship, the workforce or another pathway, I wish you every success in the years ahead.As families look ahead to September and the start of a new school year, there are a few things to keep in mind. Ontario schools will continue to focus on helping students build strong foundations in reading, writing and math while preparing them for success beyond the classroom. Students in elementary schools will learn from the same core materials and benefit from a revised Kindergarten curriculum focused on foundational literacy, math and science skills. In Grade 7 and 8, updated History courses will include new mandatory content on the history of Black Canadians.In high schools, students in Grade 10 History will have new learning about Black history, the Holocaust and Holodomor. Students will also be required to demonstrate financial literacy as part of earning their high school diploma. To help provide clearer expectations and a more comprehensive picture of student achievement, high school students will complete written final exams during a dedicated exam period, and attendance and classroom participation will form part of their final grade. Together, these changes will help students stay engaged in their learning and be better prepared for life after graduation.I hope the summer ahead provides an opportunity to recharge and enjoy some well-earned time together.
