Dear Families,
It’s been an exciting week at Bath Public School, and we’re so grateful for your continued support and involvement.
We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the many families who joined us for the Boo Bash on Friday evening. Your energy and enthusiasm made the event truly special, and we are especially grateful to our School Advisory Council for organizing such a fantastic celebration. From the fun games to the DJ, it was a night to remember and a wonderful way to bring our community together.
Also on Friday, we held our first Bath PRIDE Assembly of the year, where we recognized students who have consistently demonstrated perseverance. It was inspiring to see so many students celebrated for their hard work and determination. We are proud of each and every one of them and look forward to continuing to highlight the incredible character traits our students show every day.
Next week, the Scholastic Book Fair will be held in the library. Students will have the opportunity to preview the fair on Tuesday and can purchase books on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday morning. Families are also invited to shop together during our special evening event on Wednesday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. All proceeds from the fair will go toward purchasing new books for our library and classrooms. Thank you for supporting literacy at Bath PS!
Halloween is just around the corner, and on Friday, October 31st, students are welcome to wear spooky colours, fall colours, or a Halloween costume to school if they wish. For those planning to wear a costume, we kindly ask families to avoid sending accessories or props that may be inappropriate for our school environment, such as swords, guns, items of violence or gore, and large masks that impair vision. For our younger students, please ensure that costumes allow for independence in dressing and using the washroom. Each class may celebrate the day differently, and our Grade 8 class will be hosting a Halloween dance for all students. This fun annual event is a fundraiser for their graduation activities, and a $2 suggested donation is appreciated. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
Volleyball season will also be starting next week, with practices for both boys and girls taking place throughout the week. Our student athletes are showing great progress, and we extend many thanks to the coaches and volunteers who are generously giving their time to support our teams.
Finally, we would like to acknowledge that November 1st marks the beginning of Hindu Heritage Month, Indigenous Heritage Month, and Movember. We look forward to celebrating and learning more about these important observances throughout the month.
Thank you for being such an important part of our school community. We look forward to another week of learning, laughter, and connection at Bath PS.

Allergen Awareness - Nut-Free School
Thank you for packing nut-free snacks! Please communicate with teachers before sending any treats in for your student's class.
Human Development and Sexual Health
As part of LDSB's commitment to ongoing transparency and communication with families, please follow the link to Form 325-D on the LDSB website. It outlines the Human Development and Sexual Health curriculum expectations for Grades 1-8. Families can request to have their child or children exempted from instruction related to Human Development and Sexual Health expectations by completing and returning an exemption form for each child (Form 325-B) five school days before the start of instruction. Prior to instruction, your child's classroom teacher will inform parents/guardians when the expectations related to the Human Development and Sexual Health expectations in Strand D will be covered. For a more detailed overview of this process, please refer to Administrative Procedure 325: Exemption From Human Development and Sexual Health Instruction (listed under the Policies and Procedures section of the LDSB website), or contact the school.

Each Sunday, Bath P.S. will send home a link to this weekly newsletter (Knights News) including information about the week ahead along with other information about upcoming events, our School Council, volunteer opportunities and more. Fresh from the Farm Fundraiser
Thank you for placing your Fresh from the Farm orders. The delivery date is expected to be sometime in early November. We will let you know as soon as this is confirmed.
Student Accident Insurance
The Limestone District School Board requires that students have student accident insurance in order to participate in extra-curricular activities. Before students will be allowed to participate in these events, parents/guardians must confirm their own coverage for items not covered under the Provincial Health Plan, or purchase an insurance plan.
Each year a Student Accident Insurance Plan is made available to all students on a voluntary basis. The plan provides protection for dental damage due to accidents, fracture benefits and other important coverage, which are not covered under the Provincial Health Plan. Some parents may have dental plan coverage through their workplace but many of these plans are limited in one way or another, while this accident coverage is not. You should compare plans to make sure you have the coverage you need or desire.
In making this plan available, the Board wishes to make its position clear in the matter of insurance. Under the Education Act, the Board is not permitted to provide insurance coverage for accidents to pupils, therefore, the Board recommends consideration of this plan to any parent who wishes to obtain this kind of insurance. Although the policy has all the advantages of a group plan, it is essentially a direct contract between the parent and the insurance company.
A family plan is also available for three or more students which permits the enrolment of students in the family who are attending schools outside the jurisdiction of this Board as long as at least one child in the family is attending a school within the Limestone District School Board.
If you wish to subscribe to this insurance, you may do so by completing the form handed out to students the first week of school and mailing it directly to Reliable Life Insurance Company in the stamped envelope provided. Or, for your convenience, you may purchase directly online at www.insuremykids.com.
Bath School Advisory Council
Our fabulous parent council is looking for new members! If you would like to be a part of this great team, please come to our next meeting date is January 14th at 6:30. We are looking forward to meeting in the library. Please let us know if you can make it and if you will require childcare. We are pleased to be able to provide it during the meeting for those who require it.
School Trips and Volunteers
Throughout the year, we may ask for parent/guardian volunteers on school trips or for various classroom and school activities. The wait time for obtaining a CPIC (background check with vulnerable sector screening) can be lengthy. As such, if you think you would be willing to assist with a trip or school event in the future, please consider obtaining a CPIC with vulnerable sector screening completed, beforehand.
