What a Week at Bath! - This week has been full of excitement! We celebrated the 67th day of school as part of the 6-7 craze, enjoyed a snow day, hosted a Kindergarten Open House, welcomed families to our Hot Chocolate Festival and had a Holiday Shop at Candy Cane Lane.
Candy Cane Lane will continue on Monday for anyone who hasn't been able to go yet.
A heartfelt thank you to all our teachers and students for planning and preparing these wonderful events, and to our Kindergarten families who were able to make it on Friday.
Looking ahead, we’re thrilled to showcase our students in the New Year Talent Show on January 21st. Grade 1–3 classes will perform, and talented Grade 4–8 students have auditioned to share their skills.
Need a last-minute gift idea? With plenty of skating planned this winter—and an outdoor community rink coming to our site—we encourage families to consider CSA-approved helmets and skates for safe fun.

Chrome for the Holidays
Due to Wednesday's snow day our Chrome for the Holidays event has been postponed until Wednesday, December 17th. We’re excited to run this fundraiser to help purchase additional Chromebooks for our school!

Choices at 7 Programs
The Limestone District School Board's Choices at 7 programs offer opportunities for students entering Grade 7 to participate in a variety of unique learning environments.
Depending on the availability of places in the programs, students currently in Grade 7 may also apply to join a program for their Grade 8 year. The Choices at 7 programs that are offered include:
- ATLAS (Applying Technology for Learning, Aptitude, and Success)
- Challenge (Gifted and Academic Enrichment Program)
- LEAP (Limestone Education through the Arts Program)
- Extended French Immersion Program (for students entering Grade 7 only)

School Day Schedule
Human Development and Sexual Health
As part of LDSB's commitment to ongoing transparency and communication with families, please follow the link to Form 325-D on the LDSB website. It outlines the Human Development and Sexual Health curriculum expectations for Grades 1-8. Families can request to have their child or children exempted from instruction related to Human Development and Sexual Health expectations by completing and returning an exemption form for each child (Form 325-B) five school days before the start of instruction. Prior to instruction, your child's classroom teacher will inform parents/guardians when the expectations related to the Human Development and Sexual Health expectations in Strand D will be covered. For a more detailed overview of this process, please refer to Administrative Procedure 325: Exemption From Human Development and Sexual Health Instruction (listed under the Policies and Procedures section of the LDSB website), or contact the school.

Student Accident Insurance
The Limestone District School Board requires that students have student accident insurance in order to participate in extra-curricular activities. Before students will be allowed to participate in these events, parents/guardians must confirm their own coverage for items not covered under the Provincial Health Plan, or purchase an insurance plan.
Each year a Student Accident Insurance Plan is made available to all students on a voluntary basis. The plan provides protection for dental damage due to accidents, fracture benefits and other important coverage, which are not covered under the Provincial Health Plan. Some parents may have dental plan coverage through their workplace but many of these plans are limited in one way or another, while this accident coverage is not. You should compare plans to make sure you have the coverage you need or desire.
In making this plan available, the Board wishes to make its position clear in the matter of insurance. Under the Education Act, the Board is not permitted to provide insurance coverage for accidents to pupils, therefore, the Board recommends consideration of this plan to any parent who wishes to obtain this kind of insurance. Although the policy has all the advantages of a group plan, it is essentially a direct contract between the parent and the insurance company.
A family plan is also available for three or more students which permits the enrolment of students in the family who are attending schools outside the jurisdiction of this Board as long as at least one child in the family is attending a school within the Limestone District School Board.
If you wish to subscribe to this insurance, you may do so by completing the form handed out to students the first week of school and mailing it directly to Reliable Life Insurance Company in the stamped envelope provided. Bath School Advisory Council
Our fabulous parent council is looking for new members! If you would like to be a part of this great team, please come to our next meeting date is January 14th at 6:30. We are looking forward to meeting in the library. Please let us know if you can make it and if you will require childcare. We are pleased to be able to provide it during the meeting for those who require it.
School Trips and Volunteers
Throughout the year, we may ask for parent/guardian volunteers on school trips or for various classroom and school activities. The wait time for obtaining a CPIC (background check with vulnerable sector screening) can be lengthy. As such, if you think you would be willing to assist with a trip or school event in the future, please consider obtaining a CPIC with vulnerable sector screening completed, beforehand.

Indigenous Student Leadership Team
Liv Rondeau and Rae McDonald will be coming to work with the Indigenous Student Leadership Team (Gr. 3-8) on the following dates from 9:30 - 11:30:
September 26th, October 30th, November 28th, December 19th, January 27, February 27th, March 27th, April 24th, May 28th, June 19th
They will be working on a mural to showcase the importance of reconciliation and indigenous ways of knowing, as well year-long land-based programing. If we have missed anyone who self-identifies as Indigenous and would like to be a part of this group, please let us know.

Whether parents want to add creativity to their kid's winter break or have some free time to prepare for the holidays (or unwind thereafter), families can join one or all three of the upcoming WINTER BREAK STEAM CAMPS,at THE HIVE with new projects offered each day of each camp & all materials included. Priority registration will go to Bath Public School all this week (Nov.17 - Nov. 21) (Please be sure to write, 'BPS' in front of your name when registering to ensure your priority registration) . Camp fees are $65 per day per student and run daily from: 10:00AM - 2:30PM each day of camp. Sibling registrations will also receive a discounted rate of 10% for the second enrolled child, (rebated upon the first day of camp). Registration is online @thehivebath.com.
These camps are ideal for kids aged 5 - 12 years with projects adaptable for participants to take the lead and create their projects in the direction preferred most. With gentle, encouraging guidance in a fun, uplifting atmosphere, projects are art-full, creative, colourful, tactile, engaging & full of fun surprises.
