Dear Families,
What a Week!
It has been a wonderful week of learning, and it’s inspiring to see students growing in confidence as they recognize their own skills and abilities. We also loved seeing everyone proudly wearing pink shirts on Friday in support of bullying prevention—thank you for helping us promote kindness and respect in our school community.
Next week is Colour Week, organized by our Spirit Club!
- Monday: Wear red
- Tuesday: Wear purple
- Wednesday: Wear orange
- Thursday: Wear black
- Friday: Wear rainbow colours
Show your school spirit and join the fun!
Lice Checks Next Week
As we spend more time indoors during this season, we sometimes notice an increase in lice (and have this year). We will be conducting head checks next week, but we kindly ask that you also check your child’s head at home. For more information and helpful tips, please visit The Canadian Paediatrics Society Please let your child's teacher know if you do not want your child's head checked at school.
Chrome for the Holidays Fundraiser
We’re excited to announce a special fundraiser to help purchase additional Chromebooks for our school! Join us for an after-school movie in the gym:
- Date: Wednesday, December 10
- Time: 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM
- Movie: Arthur’s Christmas
- Who: Students in Grades K–5
- Cost: $10 (includes a hot dog, chips, and a drink)
Students are invited to wear their pajamas, bring blankets and stuffies, and enjoy a cozy movie afternoon. Please sign up and pay through School-Day if you would like your child to attend.
Student Census
Students from Grades 4 to 12 will be invited to complete the student census this week. This important initiative aims to learn more about students' identities, academic achievement, and their experiences at school. By understanding more about the unique backgrounds, experiences, and needs of students, we can create a more inclusive and supportive educational environment for everyone.
The data is paired with academic information to help us understand what school is like for different groups of students.
It is important to note that:
- The survey is optional.
- Responses are confidential.
- Students can choose to answer as much or as little of the survey as they wish.
Jingle Bell Walk
Join us on Friday, December 5th at 2:30 pm for our Jingle Bell Walk! Classes will buddy up and walk together through the community, each sporting a festive jingle bell. Our goal is to collect food bank donations from December 1st to December 16th. Donations will help the local Lions Club fill Christmas baskets for families in need. Please check expiry dates before donating—thank you for your generosity!
Talent Show
This year, instead of a Holiday Concert, we’re excited to host a New Year’s Talent Show in January! Grades 1–3 classes will perform, and students in Grades 4–8 are invited to audition and share their talents. More details and a tentative date will be shared soon.
Looking forward to another great week ahead!

Candy Cane Lane!
Have some items you would like to donate or ‘re-gift’? The 2026 graduates of Bath Public School are looking for quality donations of any sort. This year our grade 8 class of Bath PS will once again be hosting Candy Cane Lane! This annual tradition is an exciting holiday shopping event for our students and a fundraiser for our graduating class. We are looking for gently used items, handmade items, toys, games, books, holiday decorations and candles. Please do not send items that are old, broken or would not make good gifts.
We’re also looking for tissue paper, gift boxes, gift bags etc. Any and all support would be much appreciated. Please drop these off school by Friday December 7th.

School Day Schedule
Human Development and Sexual Health
As part of LDSB's commitment to ongoing transparency and communication with families, please follow the link to Form 325-D on the LDSB website. It outlines the Human Development and Sexual Health curriculum expectations for Grades 1-8. Families can request to have their child or children exempted from instruction related to Human Development and Sexual Health expectations by completing and returning an exemption form for each child (Form 325-B) five school days before the start of instruction. Prior to instruction, your child's classroom teacher will inform parents/guardians when the expectations related to the Human Development and Sexual Health expectations in Strand D will be covered. For a more detailed overview of this process, please refer to Administrative Procedure 325: Exemption From Human Development and Sexual Health Instruction (listed under the Policies and Procedures section of the LDSB website), or contact the school.
Information Sharing
Each Sunday, Bath P.S. will send home a link to this weekly newsletter (Knights News) including information about the week ahead along with other information about upcoming events, our School Council, volunteer opportunities and more. However, LDSB also has a range of other communication tools to help you stay informed.
To help users become more familiar with these new tools, please refer to these user guides:

Student Accident Insurance
The Limestone District School Board requires that students have student accident insurance in order to participate in extra-curricular activities. Before students will be allowed to participate in these events, parents/guardians must confirm their own coverage for items not covered under the Provincial Health Plan, or purchase an insurance plan.
Each year a Student Accident Insurance Plan is made available to all students on a voluntary basis. The plan provides protection for dental damage due to accidents, fracture benefits and other important coverage, which are not covered under the Provincial Health Plan. Some parents may have dental plan coverage through their workplace but many of these plans are limited in one way or another, while this accident coverage is not. You should compare plans to make sure you have the coverage you need or desire.
In making this plan available, the Board wishes to make its position clear in the matter of insurance. Under the Education Act, the Board is not permitted to provide insurance coverage for accidents to pupils, therefore, the Board recommends consideration of this plan to any parent who wishes to obtain this kind of insurance. Although the policy has all the advantages of a group plan, it is essentially a direct contract between the parent and the insurance company.
A family plan is also available for three or more students which permits the enrolment of students in the family who are attending schools outside the jurisdiction of this Board as long as at least one child in the family is attending a school within the Limestone District School Board.
If you wish to subscribe to this insurance, you may do so by completing the form handed out to students the first week of school and mailing it directly to Reliable Life Insurance Company in the stamped envelope provided. Or, for your convenience, you may purchase directly online at www.insuremykids.com.
Bath School Advisory Council
Our fabulous parent council is looking for new members! If you would like to be a part of this great team, please come to our next meeting date is January 14th at 6:30. We are looking forward to meeting in the library. Please let us know if you can make it and if you will require childcare. We are pleased to be able to provide it during the meeting for those who require it.
School Trips and Volunteers
Throughout the year, we may ask for parent/guardian volunteers on school trips or for various classroom and school activities. The wait time for obtaining a CPIC (background check with vulnerable sector screening) can be lengthy. As such, if you think you would be willing to assist with a trip or school event in the future, please consider obtaining a CPIC with vulnerable sector screening completed, beforehand.
